Prompt: You write a book about two lovers, one who is immortal and one who is terminally ill. What would the last line be?

She looks at me, smiling brightly while her fragile body begins to give in on the white hospital bed.

"Breathe life into this world", she whispers, "breathe life into it for eternity, so that maybe... through you, I can live forever."

Hands trembling, I grab hers and press the faintest whisper of a kiss on them.
"I don't want to..." I mumble, my voice breaking, "not without you... But for you, anything." Even if it means an eternity of only your memories, for her, I'd smile through the torment of living in a world where she no longer exists.

Her eyes slowly shut, and I hear the puff of her last breath, the loudest sound I've ever heard, as my heart shattered. The faint smile still brushes her frozen face, and I know, with all the pieces of my heart, that she's at peace.

The world will remember her because I shall never forget.
My heart is hers, my soul lost for eternity. So, cursed to wander this barren earth, I will do it in her name.
I will love her forever, but hold her never again.
