If you think I love you

You are utterly wrong.

I like you, yes,

But love,

Not love.

To love you

I would have needed more time

Would have needed your heart on your sleeve

Would have needed you close

What Could Have Been...

To love you,

I would need to know you.

But I don't,

So the most I could do,

Is fall in love with the idea of you

Fall in love,

With whom I wish you to be

Or maybe even

What could have been

You and I

Maybe an us?

So you see,

I could fall in love

With the idea of you

But that would be a waste of time

For why should I wonder

Of what could have been

When nothing was ever

Mine.
